So little sleep, So many cakes! {LYC Weekend Recap: Love Birds, Boarders, Ponies & Heros}

This was the busiest weekend so far, of 2013 - and MAN did we feel it!!

Who needs sleep when there are cakes to be delivered? NOT US, that's who!! At 2am on Saturday morning, the Passion Pop was popped, and the glasses were poured, and we settled in for another 4 hours to get that last cake of the night done! Oh the endless joy of being entrepreneurs!

After cleaning up the kitchen and ourselves, we loaded our little batter babies into the car and set out to stuff some Vancouver faces with cake!! WAKEY WAKEY - WE HAVE CAKEY!!

First up: The Canadian Shandy & The Kiwi Sam were getting married, and this little gem was a combination of New Zealand and Canada.  We were super excited to do a red wedding cake, and this order was lots if fun to make!

The whole set at SteamWorks in Gastown - Gorgeous venue for a gorgeous couple!!
The next cake on the list was a "Skate 2" themed cake for Jake, who might have a slight obsession with the video game (but only slightly ;)
This hand-painted fondant Mango cake let me have the chance to put a bearded hipster onto a cake, and there is nothing more Vancouver then a bearded hipster!!

painting with edible food colouring gel on to fondant..

One of my all-time favourite cake was requested for Jiselle's 5th birthday - Presenting:
MY LITTLE PONY CAKE!!

And finally, Wendy wanted to surprise her husband with a Superhero Cake for his Superhero Surprise 40th Birthday Party!! She had three requests:
-wolverine
-spidey
-hulk
and...BATMAN!!

We hope Steve took a big bite out of crime (get it? batman? crime? cake? HA!)

de ne ne ne ne ne ne ne Edible BATMANNNN!!
Big Thank You to all you wonderful cake lovers out there - Big things are coming next weekend, and if you happen to be in Yaletown next Saturday April 20th between 10am-5pm, LYC is giving away FREE CUPCAKE SAMPLES at ReFashion Vancouver!!

COME SAY HI!!
